//sorry this blog is dead rn, along with all my others. I came back from larping this past weekend to find that I am super irritated by most of my threads and need a break.
“As are you Cru,
now hold still while I clean out this old battery and fix you up.” Desmin
explained then started to work on his android friend, “Can I ask why you’re
held up in your room in such a state?” He tried to ask casually while fixing
some wires.
Crusoe looked at Des flatly and tilted his head at that. “I thought you knew me better than that…” He said blankly, shaking his head and looking down. He picked up a spare wire from the bed and fiddled with it unconsciously. “I am a healer, Des. That is what I was made to do, yes, but it is my passion, as well. My programming lets me know exactly what is going on with any body at all times and… I hurt those people. So badly…” His voice dissolved into static- the only way he could cry.
“This is more
than enough Cru, really.” He reached out for the Android’s shoulder to stop
him. “It’s cool man, really. Just clear off the bed and get me a few towels
just in case of there are any internal links.” Desmin couldn’t read or scan Cru
as he could with life forms but the android had such human mannerisms that it
was easy to read that instead.
He stilled at the touch, and left to retrieve a few towels from the replicator. He pulled his shirt off, popped his front panel off, and laid back.
Out of reflects Desmin tensed but then relaxed and hugged his android friend. “Your welcome man, now if you have a place where I can work…. I can get you patched up.” He smiled then looking at the android for the first time in his gray eyes.
“You can work in here?” He suggested, getting up to tug a large box of tools from under the bed, and to gather a few others from around the room. It was an odd mix of old and new models, as well as a few that seemed to have been altered slightly by the Android himself. “I… I’m not sure I’m up to going out just now.”
America had been good to her, but she needed to go home. Homesickness had been flooding her heart for the last few weeks and a phone call from her grandfather and grandmother had made it grow even stronger.
❝ I have to tell you something. ❞
Robin looked up from his book and blinked a couple times, coming back to reality. He smiled.
“Oh please, you think I dont know a bad program whrn I see it. Besides, some of that was just an act for the brass. I spoke to the captain, and explained with you blue prints and told him you did more good than harm even if you didnt know it at the time…sooo. he will personally review your file foe active duty but as for now you get your new and improved heart.”
If Crusoe was a human, he would have cried. As it was, it was all he could do to pull Des into a careful hug. “Thank you.”
